Full Albemarle County Board of Supervisors, Full Charlottesville City Council and Commonwealth’s Attorneys Endorse Tom Perriello’s Congressional Bid
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Former Congressman Tom Perriello today welcomed the consolidated support of the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors, Charlottesville City Council, and both Albemarle and Charlottesville Commonwealth’s Attorneys. This included the support of the current and recent former Chairs of the Albemarle Board of Supervisors, Ned Gallaway and Jim Andrews. The Perriello campaign previously announced support from the Mayor and Vice Mayor of Charlottesville, Juandiego Wage and Natalie Oschrin.
In a week in which the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee added this district to its list of targeted races, Tom Perriello announced endorsements from:
Jim Hingeley, Albemarle Commonwealth’s Attorney
Joe Platania, Charlottesville Commonwealth’s Attorney
Ned Gallaway, Chair, Albemarle County Board of Supervisors
Sally Duncan, Albemarle County Board of Supervisors
Ann Mallek, Albemarle County Board of Supervisors
Fred Missel, Albemarle County Board of Supervisors
Jim Andrews, former Chair, Albemarle County Board of Supervisors
Diantha McKeel, former Albemarle County Board of Supervisors
Jen Fleisher, Charlottesville City Council
Michael Payne, Charlottesville City Council
Lloyd Snook, Charlottesville City Council
“I’m deeply grateful to every member of the Charlottesville City Council and the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors for their leadership and support of this campaign,” said Perriello. “Communities across the Blue Ridge deserve a champion in Congress who will work with local leaders to bring down health care and housing costs, protect our freedoms, and restore investments in infrastructure and scientific research. I promise to put our communities first.”
Perriello has also earned the support of Governor Abigail Spanberger, Senators Kaine and Warner, Lieutenant Governor Hashmi, and numerous other community and elected leaders across the Blue Ridge, Southside, and Valley.
Perriello will run in the Sixth Congressional District, should voters approve the ballot referendum for new Congressional maps in April. Otherwise, he will continue to run in the existing Fifth Congressional District, currently held by Republican Rep. John McGuire.
